Versapanel is a cement bonded particle board comprised of wood and cement. The boards are highly versatile and offer great advantage to meet increasingly demanding building regulations.

Features:

  • High density board - versatile to a wide range of environments
  • Offers resistance to both moisture and intense heat
  • Resistance against fungi, termites and rot.
  • Non-hazardous

  • Product is Square Edge
  • This product will also offer excellent sound reduction and withstand weather changes in external applications even when left unprotected.
  • Board finish - Unsanded, for fine tolerance
  • Typical density of boards - 1250 kg/m3 - For example a 2400mm x 1200mm x 12mm board will weigh approximately 43.2 kilograms.

Testing:

  • Versapanel® has been tested to the British Standards to confirm that it is Class 'O' in its fire performances
  • The following tests show where a Class 'O' C.P.Board can be used when manufactured to the BS EN 634-1 and BSEN 634-2 and the resulting performances based on both test and assessed performances when using the generic material
  • The Versapanel cement particle board is a FSC certified product, making it compliant with regulations

Can it be used to tile a floor on to?
No, you cannot tile a floor onto this product. Versapanel is a cement bonded particle board and will absorb moisture. The recommended product would be Marmox or Hardiebacker which can be tiled onto.

Can you use a silicone render system on these boards?
The Versapanel is not a render board, and not suitable to be rendered for external use. However it can be used externally as a sheathing board.

Which board is best for 600mm centre fixing?
The 10mm Versapanel is able to be fixed at 600 centres. We have attached the Versapanel Technical Manual on the product page. Please look at the Mounting & Fixings section.

Can this board be painted?
Yes. Versapanel will receive most standard paint finishes and stains. Versapanel has a surface pH of 11-13 so an alkali resistant primer may be required by some coatings - it is advisable to refer to the paint manufacturer in all instances. Remove any surface dust prior to decoration and ensure that if boards have been exposed to the elements that they have been allowed to dry out and acclimatise before being coated.
